When I start working on the gusset the colors start clumping together in a more interesting way and the heels striped as the colors stacked up in the purl rows. I like longer color changes these short color changes are busy looking.
I used all my Kroy yarn on these socks I had remnants of 4 balls. I thought I was using each of the dark balls of yarn for the toe but I eventually saw that I was knitting 2 toes from one ball. So I knit until it was gone and picked up the next 2 balls of the same color and knit to the end then used the last dark yarn for the ribbing. I did a diagonal knit 2 purl 2 in the leg and made a couple mistakes but I kept on knitting until they were done. They are socks that will be covered up by blue jeans; my feet won't care if the diagonals change direction. Still happy with sticks and string.--Ann-- linking to OTN at Judy's
I LOVE your pink socks!! Do you know what the yarn is that you are using? Your finished pair of socks look so warm and comfie. I really need to get knitting again!
ReplyDeleteLove the way the yarn is patterning on those pink socks! I also really like your most recent quilt. It's taking me a while to get caught up with blogging after being without WiFI for a while.
ReplyDeleteLovely socks - interesting how the colours work! The finished pair looks so inviting - wear me wear me!
ReplyDeleteBoth pair are great. I really like how you used up those bits of Kroy yarn.
ReplyDeleteThe pink socks are very interesting and I like the way the yarns is behaving. Your Kroy socks are the best!! That pattern looks so nice and warm and you are right, your feet don't know when there is a mistake in the sock. At least that's what I say on every pair I've made.!!
ReplyDeleteYour socks are darling! Love all the action going on in the first pair - I don't know how you keep up with where you are in the pattern! And those Kroy socks look oh-so-comfy!!!
