On the Needles

Soctober socks completed my second pair of socks!! The pattern is Seagrass from Toe-up 2-at-a-Time Socks by Melissa Morgan-Oakes just knitting and purling in groups of 6.

Another pair of Lovikka mittens with handpainted yarn.  I am looking for a basic knitting book with good illustrations and instruction to clarify the many abbreviations used in knitting and would like it to include instruction on stitching patterns. the internet and youtube are great but sometimes I want to use a real book. What is your go to book for knitting?  linking to Judy at Patchwork Times

You do lovely work. Sorry, I have no book advice for you.

Lovely socks and the mittens look so warm. Your color choices are nice and "rich".

Ann, your knitting is superb...those socks look so soft and the mittens are going to be gorgeous. I am not a knitter, but I have knit in the past. A few years back I sprained my wrist and couldn't quilt, but for some reason I could knit, so I made about half a dozen scarves. Now I'm back to sewing, but I do appreciate the skill and beauty in hand knit items. Well done! sorry, but I don't know of a "go to " book.

Lovely socks! Blue is my favorite color.

Check the local library as they usually have a selection of basic knitting books and then you can preview which ones you like.

Pretty socks! I like the stitch pattern. DH gave me The Knitting Book by Patmore and Haffenden last Christmas, and maybe you could check it out at the library. It's quite comprehensive...patterns techniques and stitches, etc.
