peonies

My fern leaf peonies are blooming and very early this year. So many more buds to open, I think they look like a Dr. Suess creature with a frilly collar. These roots came from my mother's garden and she got them from her mother and I'm sure she got them from her garden club friends. Blooming memories--Ann--

They really are different than any peonies I've ever seen. It's the leaves that are strange. Quite like Dr. Seuss, I agree. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Interesting peony! I'd never seen one like that before; will they grow everywhere? And how fun to have a plant that's been passed down from generation to generation. I love Dr. Seuss, too, especially Horton Hatches the Egg; it was one of my first very own books, and I still have it.
